You Assume All Risks and Are Responsible for Your Own Safety. You understand that interacting with strangers involves inherent risks, including but not limited to physical injury, property damage, emotional distress, or financial loss. You voluntarily assume all such risks and agree that interactions with other members occur at your own discretion and risk, and you will conduct your own due diligence before selecting or working with any other member.
Your Name and Contact Information May Be Shared. By offering help or accepting help and paying the required Connection Fee, your full name, phone number, and email address will be shared with the other member, and you will receive theirs. All communications occur off-platform.
You Are Not Guaranteed Help. You understand that Help Handed services are for introductions between members seeking to offer or request help. Help Handed is not a party to any Help Services, does not supervise volunteers, and does not control or guarantee the delivery, quality, safety, legality, or suitability of any Help Services.
You Will Request or Offer Only Permitted Services. You confirm that your Help Request participation:
- Falls entirely within the selected Help Type(s);
- Does not require a professional license, certification, permit, or regulatory authorization;
- Does not involve medical care, legal advice, financial services, licensed trades, illegal activity, or other prohibited services; and
- Complies with applicable laws.
No Payment Will Be Exchanged. You understand that the Platform facilitates unpaid volunteer help only. You will not offer or accept payment, compensation, or anything of value to another member for Help Services.
You Are Responsible for Your Conduct and Commitments. You agree to act lawfully, respectfully, and in good faith, to use independent judgment, and to make reasonable efforts to honor your commitments to other members.
Help Handed Is Not Responsible for Disputes or Damages. Any dispute, injury, loss, or damage arising from Help Services is solely between you and the other member. You release Help Handed from claims arising out of or related to Help Services or member interactions, subject to applicable law.
You meet all eligibility requirements. You are at least 18, have never committed certain crimes, and meet all other eligibility requirements to use this service.

What We Collect: We collect your name, contact info, profile details, help preferences, optional background info (e.g. caregiver, veteran), and basic site activity. Background checks are optional.
How We Use It: We use your info to run the platform, help connect you with others, support trust and safety, and improve performance. We don’t sell your data.
Sharing: Your contact info is only shared with another member when you accept a help offer or your help offer is accepted. We also share data with Stripe and Sterling Volunteers when you authorize payments or background checks.
Cookies and Tracking: We use essential and analytics cookies (like Google Analytics) to understand usage and improve the site. We don’t track you across other sites.
Your Rights: You can access, update, or delete your data at any time. You can also opt out of optional data sharing or marketing uses.
Security: We use secure servers and encryption. No system is 100% secure, but we follow industry standards.
